WHAT I READ IN MAY 2025

The Names – 4.5 stars

I ordered this successful my book of nan period container and it was excellent. This communicative is stunning and heartbreaking and 1 that I could not put down. I had to cognize what happened. We meet Cora who is trying to flight an abusive hubby and has to sanction her newborn son. She and her girl want different names and nan book goes disconnected based connected which sanction nan boy would have. The storyline tin beryllium a small confusing and I really had to salary attraction (I deliberation it would beryllium difficult connected audio), and immoderate scenes were perfectly difficult to publication and devastating.

One Golden Summer – 5 stars

O.M.G. – Every Summer After is 1 of my favourite books ever and I didn’t deliberation this could compete. It perfectly did and I loved it JUST arsenic much. This is Charlie’s communicative – nan relative from nan first book – and it is incredible. Funny, bosom warming, a storyline pinch a grandma – it’s beautiful and specified a consciousness bully and thoughtful book. I adored it and americium truthful sad it’s over.

The Griffin Sisters Greatest Hits – 3.5 stars

Jennifer Weiner is simply a must publication for maine each summertime and and has been for almost 20 years. This was ace tiny and I loved nan 2000s nostalgia (obviously). We travel a popular prima sisters who sprout to fandom and past break up and disappear. It does springiness Daisy Jones vibes but I loved nan timing of it each and nan 90s/2000s references. Cute and was decidedly difficult to put down.

My Favorite Bad Decision – 5 stars

Oh really I LOVED this. It was so, SO good. Our female lead is forced to climb equine kilamanjara by her begetter (right? weird?) and ends up connected nan travel pinch a erstwhile crush. It’s an enemies to lovers, benignant of a 2nd chance romance (kind of) trope and I adored it. I was acrophobic I wouldn’t – nan climbing storyline did not liking maine – but ohio my gosh it was FABULOUS. Spicy but not until astatine slightest 60%+.

The Last Trip – 4 stars

Oooh this is simply a twisty one. I was almost acrophobic to publication it because nan communicative follows a mates connected their babymoon. It is decidedly crazy and not thing I would usually prime up but I was craving a thriller. There is simply a twist that happens pinch nan husband, nan owners of nan compartment – it’s a spot crazy but decidedly thing you can’t extremity reading. I had to cognize what happened!

Problematic Summer Romance – 4 stars

Just vanished this complete nan play and I really liked it truthful much. At first I thought it was a small cringe – it is simply a (big) property spread romance and nan changeless talk of him knowing her arsenic a child, her childish behavior, etc – I didn’t deliberation I would get past it. It made maine consciousness a small weird, ha. But I emotion Ali Hazelwood books soooo overmuch and this 1 did not disappoint. The mounting was stunning and incredible.

Definitely Better Now – 3 stars

Another book of nan period find. In this 1 we travel Emma who is simply a twelvemonth sober aft she stopped drinking and pursuing nan program. She is very young truthful it is from a different position and astatine clip it seemed each complete nan spot but I ended up really liking nan ending! The characteristic improvement really is chaotic and nan ending is promising aft immoderate trainwreck scenes (ha IYKYK). It was very earthy and real!!
